A formal process exists for those who wish to apply for training and possible future membership.. The reason for this is that in working magically with others it is important to have people who are conducive to maintaining a close, safe and supportive environment.
Applicants must have positive intentions, be sincere and feel a calling to walking a spiritual and magical path connected to the mysteries of nature in an ethical and responsible way.
After we have received an expression of interest, a Coven elder will reply within 2-4 weeks by email following discussions of your enquiry with the wider group. Then we will usually arrange to talk to the applicant on the phone and possibly arrange further meetings in person. Initial meetings are always held in a mutually agreed upon, public place so that both parties involved feel safe..
The minimum age for someone to be initiated into our group (and any traditional Wiccan group) is 18 years of age. A 17 year old applicant may however commence a training programme and attend monthly training classes, but initiation and participation in Coven rituals may not generally occur until the applicant is over 18 years of age.
For those who genuinely seek to learn and practice Wicca and can commit time, energy, and hard work. Yes there is also a lot of fun and laughter and friendship in a ritual group . . . but it is always a balance between mirth and reverence.
